MAKING YOUR BOOKING

The easiest ways to make a firm booking are by phone or by using our secure online booking grid. A deposit of £100 per week is required on booking: this may be by cheque, credit or debit card, but by debit card only if you book online. The balance of the cost is due 6 weeks before the arrival date and again may be by cheque, credit or debit card. Holidays booked less than 6 weeks prior to the arrival date are payable in full on booking. All bookings are subject to a £10 non-refundable booking fee, payable at the time of booking.
When you have paid your balance we will send you a final booking confirmation by email (or by post if you prefer), with instructions for arrival and key collection.

SHORT BREAKS

Short breaks may be booked usually between October and April. Short breaks may be taken during the summer at our discretion, but will generally only be available at short notice (within two weeks of the start date), and are usually advertised on our website.

COTTAGE FACILITIES

We take a personal interest in our cottages and aim to ensure that they all feel like home to our guests. Included in each cottage is a fitted kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge crockery and cutlery. Some have freezers and this is indicated in the property details. All have colour TV and comfortable soft furnishings, and some are equipped with CD, video and DVD. Again, this in indicated in the property details. Free WiFi is available throughout all of our cottages.

CHILDREN AND INFANTS

Cots and high chairs can be provided in some cottages at a cost of £10 each. Please note that we do not provide cot linen.

PETS

Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Old Bakehouse, the Barn, the Little Byre, the Buttery, Long Meadow and the Joiner’s Cottage .  Animals must not be left unattended in the cottage, nor be allowed to sit or sleep on furniture or beds. Animals must be kept under close control around the cottage, and not be allowed to foul the cottage garden area. There is a supplement of £20 for dogs.

LINEN & TOWELS

Bed linen and tea towels are included in the price. For bookings of two weeks or more this includes clean linen at the end of each week if required. Personal towels are not included apart from the Fell Cottage but can be provided if required at a cost of £2 per towel.

ELECTRICITY & HEATING

All electricity, gas and oil (where appropriate) are included in the price. Fuel for open fires and wood-burning stoves is not included, although in some cottages there may be a small initial supply provided free of charge.

WASHING & DRYING

Facilities for washing and drying clothes are available to all cottages, either within the cottage itself or in a separate utility room (£5.00) per wash. Contact Sandy to book a wahing day/time. Please give the money to Sandy or Stuart in Wheelgate Hotel next door.

PARKING

All cottages have private parking. The number of spaces available is indicated in the property details.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

Check-in is  3.30pm to 7pm usually – there is a key box outside each cottage. Later check-in may be possible, but please try to give us as much notice as possible so that we can make any necessary alternative arrangements.
Check-out is by 10.00am to give us enough time to prepare the cottage for the next guests. This is a major task on changeover day, and your help in leaving on time would be greatly appreciated.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Please ask us for advice if you have any special requirements, for example if one of your party has limited mobility. All our properties are different and we will be able to provide you with the information to enable you to choose something suitable.

SMOKING

All cottages are strictly non-smoking. Please do not spoil the next guests’ holiday by smoking in the cottage.
